The Food Charter Working Group aims to create a policy framework for the work of the Guelph-Wellington Food Round Table. Ultimately, it seeks to influence policy and action in our region.
Is food a part of your life? We believe that everyone who answers “yes” should have a say in where their food comes from, how their food is produced, and how those factors impact their communities now and in the future.
Do you want to promote health? Do you think education is vital? Or that sustainable economic development has merit? Is the environment important to you? What about culture? And social justice?
If you care about any of these, your values align with the Guelph-Wellington Food Charter!
Please consider reading it or watching it and signing our charter to show your support for the Food Charter and the work of the Guelph Wellington Food Round Table. And then take action using the Guelph-Wellington Food Charter Toolkit.
Food charters are being crafted in cities and regions all over Canada, and many are being adopted or endorsed by municipal governments.
We are always looking for interested volunteers, please contact us if you want to get involved or have any questions.
